Dear Volunteers and Sending Organization,
We are seeking volunteers for our EVS project “Youth Pine Forest 4” to take place in Pinhal Novo, Portugal. The activity period will be from 15 May 2012 until 15 May 2013.

Project description:
Youth pine forest 4 Activity Description:
- The main emphasis will be: art and culture as well as media and communication / youth information. Most of the activity will take place in AJCOI`s headquarters, predominantly in the local primary and high school, fire men department and among other places like the local cinema.
- The activities offer a place for developing themselves. The volunteers will get support from us, to introduce their own projects here. They will get an approximately structure to work in the fields of arts and entertainment, stage performances and exhibitions. The focus in this activities will be based on Pinhal Novo`s high school, so the volunteers will come in close contact with the youngsters there. The work involves organizing parties (sound, light, scenery, and technical support) as well as being involved as an actor. They will also get the possibility to work in the fields of kids/youth animation for example in doing workshops for balloon sculpturing or organize trips into the countryside, to the sea, mountain biking, sport competitions or game events for and together with them.
- The media and communication comprise a big range of activities too. At first, they would like to get an introduction in how to use video cams, camera, and the useable programmes on the computer. Furthermore, they will learn how to produce short movies. And in the course of time, they will organize a short movie contest in the local cinema of Pinhal Novo. Besides they have to do all things around this contest, involving advertisement, production of flyer and posters, finding sponsors and so on. Above all, they will support sound recording and mastering in the sound studio of AJCOI. And all these activities will be intent on integration and interaction of the youth.
- The different phases of the Activity (preparation, implementation and evaluation): Activity preparation will put to use the human and material resources at AJCOI, as well as all the resources which result from synergies with partner entities. Implementation measures will capitalize on the results of the preparation stage, establishing objectives to attain and developing a methodology - which will have to allow the participation of the community – in order to reach those goals.
- Analysis of the target population for the activities will take into account factors of nationality, gender, culture and so on.
- Adaptation of the activities to the motivations and interests of the participants: Secretary ship, Administrative proceedings of contact between national and international entities, programming, daily tables of tasks to effect between the groups, surveys of materials in lack/stock, request of budgets and choice of the best relation price/quality.
- Evaluation of positive and negative aspects:
Analysis of positive and negative aspects of the program, period of training, project, activity. Analysis of the activities of the association. Analysis of the plan of activities/projects “AJCOI”.
Evaluation of the performance of volunteer work teams.
Results of project /activities; Material resources - enough/insufficient; Human resources - effectiveness/efficiency; Evaluation - monthly/quarterly/final
Volunteer tasks:
Arts and Entertainment, Working with the theatre groups (stage theatre, street theatre, comical sketches) of AJCOI and Pinhal Novo´s high school, both as an organizer and as an actor. Working for AJCOI's youth groups as an assistant for kids and teens in activities like trips to the beach, cultural visits (museums, castles etc…) and walks in the countryside. Furthermore working in the primary school, firemen department, foundation and planning events (music, arts, short-movie content skate contest.) Also volunteers will develop and improve Youth In Action projects in AJCOI.
Practical arrangements for the volunteer:
- Food: A monthly food allowance is provided. 100 Euros
- Volunteer Allowance: The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of €95, 00
(pocket money)
- Accommodation: Flat, single bedroom with shared cooking, washing, laundry and WC.
- Working hours and days off and holidays: 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, two consecutive days off per week and 2 days holiday per month for the duration of the project.
- Local Transport: A monthly local transport allowance is provided if necessary to the activities.
- Language training: 2 hours per day 2 days a week.
